Anaesthesia with Lidocain, Ultracain, Marcain and Dicynone

Anaesthesia with Lidocain LIDOCAIN 2% - ADRENALIN 0,001% injection: This is the most common drug used in anaesthesia. Active substance: lidocaine hydrochloride 20mg and 0.01 mg of adrenaline in a 1ml injection. The product provides local and regional anaesthesia. High alcohol consumption increases its sensitivity-reducing effect on breathing-centre. The drug is less effective used on an inflamed or infected area of the skin. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: The lidocaine can go through the placenta. In case of pregnancy risk assessment needs to be carried out carefully before use, especially in the first third. It can go into the milk in a very small amount but that is practically harmless to the child. You may have a sensitivity to lidocaine that means you may have overdose symptoms as an effect on usual dosage. You may ask your dentist about it prior to your treatment.

ULTRACAIN D S Forte injection ULTRACAIN D S Forte injection: This drug provides local anaesthesia prior to dental treatments that include the treatment of mucous membrane or bone surgeries, that require stronger local ischemia. Active substance: 0.024mg epinephrine and 80.0mg articaine-hydrochloride in a 2ml vial. It has got a reduced effect used on an inflamed area. It is not recommended to consume any food as long as the local anaesthesia is still effective. Please inform your dentist about the currently and recently taken medicines including medicines obtainable without prescription. The local anaesthesia is a very humane anaesthetic and analgesic method for surgical interventions during pregnancy. The Ultracaine can go through the placenta very slightly. It is not necessary to stop breast-feeding when Ultracaine is used for local anaesthesia as it can’t go into the milk in a noticeable amount. The drug can cause side- or post-effects that can be different for every individual. Please ask your dentist for details.

MARCAIN injection MARCAIN injection: Active substance: 20.0mg bupivacainium chloratum in an anhydricum vial. The Marcaine prevents the nerve endings to transmit signals to the brain of pain, warm or cold. In many cases, this could mean that the muscles in the injected area are also blocked, which could cause temporary paralysis and weakness. Prior to a Marcaine injection, please tell your dentist what disease(s) have you got currently, what drugs are you taking or have you taken recently. Do not forget to notice your dentist about medicines obtainable without prescriptions as well! Notice him/her about your heart-, liver- or kidney problems and/or skin disease(s) around the area where the injection will be applied. The Marcaine hasn’t got any known side- or post-effects on pregnancy or breast-feeding. Serious side effects occur very rarely that require special care.

DICYNONE injectionDICYNONE injection: Active substance: 250.0mg etamsilate in a 2ml vial. This drug is being used to treat dental bleeding because of its styptic effect. The medicine is contraindicated during the first three months of pregnancy or in case of hypersensitivity of the active substance or other ingredients or in case of porphyrin disease or asthma. Breast-feeding needs to be suspended at the time of being treated by Dicynone. The medicine may cause hypotension, therefore regular monitoring of blood pressure is required when it is being used. Please inform your dentist about the currently and recently taken medicines including medicines obtainable without prescription. The Dicynone contains sodium-disulphite that may cause allergic reactions. The disulphite-hypersensitivity is more frequent in patients having asthma. The use of this product should be discontinued immediately in case of hypersensitivity reaction. Please ask your dentist about any other questions you may have.
