Primary telescope crown
The telescope crowns are hidden fastenings as well. Telescopic denture can be made if there are only 1-3 remaining teeth on the jawbone and they are so stable that it’s unnecessary to remove them but they are not enough to have a hidden anchorage partial denture installed on them – in this case the telescopic system can function well. The easiest way to imagine the telescopic system is to compare them with Matryoshka dolls with only two dolls – a smaller and a larger. The smaller one supposed to be the primary telescopic crown which is glued onto the stump and the secondary telescopic crown clicks onto the primary one (with high friction), representing the higher doll. These telescopic crowns can be made of gold, which increases the costs and the technician has to use a special way and material to solder the gold to the dental metal which also generates an extra cost. Our experience shows that the telescope crowns made of dental metal are functioning just as well as the ones made of gold but for the former one soldering is not needed.
