Root-apex resection It is applicabe to those teeth with inflamed root end(s). If the tooth is in an important zone in the mouth or functioning as a pillar or if the patient insists to save it then the problem can be solved by chunking the root, but only a few teeth are suitable for this process. If there is an option and the patient agrees then the inflamed area gets removed through a tiny cut and the root gets hermetically filled to seal it from bacterias’ access.
